TRENTON, NJ - As part of the Abbott State Supreme Court decision, New
Jersey has committed more than $8 billion dollars to upgrade public
schools in the state's poorest, mostly urban districts. This represents
a huge opportunity for these districts to bring their facilities into
the 21st century. Clarke Caton Hintz has been working closely with
several districts, in particular the Trenton School District, to
complete their Long Range Facilities Master Plans. One of the
interesting historic preservation aspects of the Abbott program is that
many of the schools that will be receiving funding are late 19th and
early 20th century structures with beautiful details and architectural
features.
