Ruppert Plaza Garage and Macombs Dam Park
Bronx, NY
Macombs Dam Park is a state-of-the-art parks and recreation facility sited on the rooftop of a two-story parking structure.  The park and parking facility on which it stands in conjunction with two other neighboring parking facilities (also by CCH) will service the new adjacent Yankee Stadium.

The park is bounded by the Macomb’s Dam Viaduct Bridge to the west, east 161st Street  and the stadium to the north, Ruppert Place to the east and east 157th Street to the south.  It features a broad range of community minded amenities including a regulation size synthetic surface football / soccer field, an eight lane running track, four basketball courts and eight handball courts.   Bleacher seating for 600 is being provided to the west of the field.  Nearby to the south of the bleachers stands a comfort station / field house with provisions for restrooms and storage.
A fitness circuit is found in the southern portion of the park with nearby access to misting stations and drinking fountains.

The perimeter of the rooftop park is in large part enclosed by landscape planters buffering the park from the active streetscape beyond.  Landscape elements have been carefully considered to enhance view corridors and to provide for a diverse mix of ornamental grasses and trees.  The rooftop park will integrate completely with the proposed landscape and pedestrian access sited to the east at Ruppert place which will in time merge with Heritage Field, a little league and softball field complex located on the former Yankee Stadium site.
