Construction of the 6,400 seat Commerce Ballpark began in June 1998 and the facility opened for its first season in the spring of 1999. The stadium's design features include a 300 seat year-round restaurant open to the public, twenty skyboxes, and an asymmetric outfield. The brick and exposed steel facade has a historic character reminiscent of some of the country's beloved older stadiums.
