The Tewksbury Master Plan is unique in two regards: its thorough and exhaustive approach that considers all aspects of planning and development issues facing the township and in its recognition of the importance of the Highlands Region. The Plan utilizes the latest in GIS mapping and aerial photography, and incorporates three expert studies: a hydrogeological capacity of the townships aquifers; a forest resource analysis, and a traffic analysis that addresses the capacity of the Township's roadway system, including its designated scenic roads. Preparation of the plan took place over two years, during which the Planning Board reached out to over 20 community groups.
