Bound Brook Municipal Building
Located within a neighborhood of handsome Victorian homes, the Bound Brook municipal building strives to maintain the urban character of area while also blending with the adjacent context. By defining the street frontage with the building volume, it also screens the parking lot from view.
The building is comprised of three programmatic elements - the general municipal offices, the police station and the Borough's Council Room. Each element is organized around the Main Public lobby. The Council Room is centered on the entrance and is a double height space. The additional height lends prominence to the space while anchoring the building's mass. Skylights within this space give the council room its distinct character.
