Wood Street Housing
This project represents an excellent example of a community-based non-profit, Isles, Inc., joining forces with a for-profit developer, the Wood Street Housing Partnership, to provide affordable housing and office space in one of Trenton's most historic neighborhoods. Clarke Caton Hintz was brought in early to assist with programming, site development, historic review and in dealing with the numerous State and City agencies involved in review and financing of this complex project.
The Wood Street Housing Project includes the renovation of five existing rowhouses which contain 14 apartment units; the renovation of the MacRellish and Quigley Building, a former printing plant, which contains 14 new apartments, offices for Isles and community spaces; and the construction of nine new infill townhouse units, which contain 18 apartments, for a total of 46 new, affordable dwellings.
