Bus Stop Enhancement Study

Plainsboro's committment to alternative modes of transportaion can be seen in their muliple bikeways, pedestrian friendly Plainsboro Village as well as their many bus and shuttle public transportation oppportunities. Even though their efforts have provided many bus stop locations, the exisiting conditions for these stop locations are utilitarian and lacking in necessary accommodations.

Clarke Caton Hintz developed site analysis, concept plans, photo simulizations and cost estimates for 5 new bus stop facilities throughout the township. Ideal locations were selected for new bus service or improvements to the existing service. The concept plans developed include sustainable practices such as stormwater planters, solar panels on the bus shelters and lighted bollards, bicycle racks and waste/recycling containers. These improvements can be easily adapted to many site conditions and used as a model for future stop locations.
